Business owners and directors we contact
Legacy Leadership Capital Ltd (company number 17041507) acquires established UK businesses. We may contact owners and directors of companies that could suit our approach, to ask whether they would consider a sale or succession conversation. This section explains how we handle your details if we contact you.
Who is responsible for your data: Legacy Leadership Capital Ltd is the controller. Contact us about your data at privacy@legacyleadershipcapital.com.
What we hold and where it comes from:
From Companies House (the public register): your name, your role in the company, your shareholding band, the month and year of your birth, and your country of residence.
From business contact data providers (Apollo.io and Prospeo): your work email address, job title and LinkedIn profile address.
From our own records: when we contacted you, and any reply.
We also note who owns a company's parent company, from Companies House, to understand ownership.
We do not collect personal email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses or any sensitive (special category) information.
Why we use it and our lawful basis: We use these details to identify businesses that may fit our acquisition criteria and to make a direct business approach to the person who could decide on a sale. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in finding acquisition opportunities (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have assessed that your interests do not override ours, because we contact you only in your business capacity, send at most 3 emails if you do not reply, and stop as soon as you ask.
Who we share it with: We do not sell your details, and we share them only as follows. To find your work email address, we send your name and company website to our contact data providers. Apollo.io is based in the United States: these transfers are protected by its certification under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the "UK-US data bridge") and the standard contractual clauses in its terms. Prospeo is based in Canada, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection; its data is hosted in the United States, protected by the UK-US data bridge or the standard contractual clauses in its terms.
How long we keep it: If an approach does not lead to a conversation, we delete your contact details 12 months after we found them. If you opt out, we keep only your email address (or company number) on a suppression list, so that we never contact you again.
Your rights: You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. You can object to our approach at any time: reply "unsubscribe" to any of our emails or write to privacy@legacyleadershipcapital.com, and we will stop within 2 working days. We answer other requests within 1 month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), though we would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.
